Who else heard the Black Widow scuttlebutt?
Black Widow hits cinemas on May 1st. However, promotion has been thin on the floor, with one poster that the only officially published bit of promotional material. That doesn’t mean there isn’t info out there about the movie.
After all, there was a teaser screened at Disney’s D23 Expo, we’ve seen multiple pictures in the set and promotional artwork from the film has already surfaced.
BLACK WIDOW (May 2020) – Movie Teaser Trailer Concept ” Widow Origin ” Scarlett Johansson
Black Widow is an upcoming superhero film, based on the Marvel Comics superheroine of the same name. Black Widow is scheduled to be theatrically released in the United States on May 1, 2020.
But in two weeks, we will get our first proper look at the spinoff, since it seems certain that its trailer is scheduled to drop on December 3rd.
That’s the date being passed around online by industry insiders and we have since confirmed it. And of course that it is put by this roughly an early May release date based on other MCU projects that have targeted.
For example, Avengers: Endgame’s trailer landed on December 7th, 2018, also Avengers: Infinity War’s on November 29th, 2017. Black Widow isn’t likely to be as big an event as these movies were, but I am confident this routine will hold.
So, what do we expect from it? Well, given the footage which was screened at the D23 Expo, I am betting we’ll see a Black Widow on Black Widow combat between Natasha and Yelena, a debut for David Harbour’s Red Guardian and perchance a tease of Rachel Weisz’s Red Room trainer Melina, who is rumored to secretly be Taskmaster.
We know that there’s a significant car chase set-piece from the film that seemed fairly complete too, so I reckon we will see a number of that as well.
The majority of Marvel Studios’ attempts post-Avengers: Endgame are to push forward in a new direction with cool and new characters, with the present Phase 1 heroes moving to their Disney Plus shows or more likely to be written out.
However, Black Widow is set in the aftermath of Captain America: Civil War and after all of us said our goodbyes to Natasha Romanoff in Endgame, you need to wonder whether audiences will really need to return into the status quo of 2016/2017.
LOL, But I guess we will find out soon enough.
