Texas GOP Senator Ted Cruz was ridiculed by supporters of Joe Biden on Saturday after he described the new administration’s first six weeks in the White House as “boring but radical.” The comment which was posted to Twitter prompted critics to mock the contradiction as a sign the Republican Party is promoting confusing messages and offered many a chance to express their support of having less chaos in the Oval Office.
On Saturday, Ted Cruz repeated his Thursday suggestion to FOX NEWS that Biden is deliberately being “very boring” in order to “hide his radical policy agenda.” The dubious declaration reflects longtime right-wing conspiracy theories that claim Vice President Kamala Harris and other “radical left” factions of the Democratic Party are actually in control. As HillReporter.com noted Saturday, “Republicans have been juggling how to portray Biden as both bumbling and nefarious, both senile and dangerous” for months, even prior to his November election win.
Cruz tweeted Saturday morning: “Three words to describe the first weeks of the Biden administration: boring but radical,”. This prompted rampant accusations that he and other GOP lawmakers “prefer disarray” in Washington.
However, Cruz, who kickstarted a campaign to make the “BoringButRadical” trend this week, was mockingly referred to as a “radical centrist” and accused of botching the “Schrödinger’s cat” thought experiment that says something can be both alive and dead at the same time. Other critics accused the Republican Party of honing in on cultural controversies such as Mr. Potato Head’s gender because they don’t have any alternative pandemic plans in which to counter Democrats.
Some also noted Cruz’s decision to leave Texas for Cancun Mexico, when his state experienced severe winter last month, resulting in widespread outages of electricity and water.
“You decided to flee instead of lead. Sit down,” replied The vigilantly anti-Trump conservative group Lincoln Project, snapping back at Cruz on Twitter on Saturday.
Cruz’s seemingly paradoxical description of Biden’s short time in office follows a 2020 presidential campaign in which former President Donald Trump alternated between calling Biden “senile” and simultaneously painting him as a “radical left” supporter of Antifa.
Ted Cruz repeated on Fox News and to reporters this week his belief that Biden is purposefully being “boring” as compared to Trump in order to push through a “progressive” agenda.
