If you Have been anxiously waiting for a sequel To Top Gun because of the first movie’s launch in 1986, there is some very good news as it turns out that the wait for Top Gun: Maverick only got shorter. Just a little shorter, but nevertheless, every minute counts. Initially set to be released on June 26, the film has been transferred by 2 weeks and will now launch on Wednesday, June 24
It is somewhat unusual, but not unheard of, for Movies to debut in theatres on days aside from Friday. When it does occur, it tends to be through the summertime when vacations and schools being out makes attending movies in the middle of this week a bit easier.
It is not clear just what the motive was to move Maverick up by a couple of days. Certainly, we could assume the studio did some calculations and thinks that the movie will still be able to make an audience during this week. Considering most of these awaiting Top Gun: Maverick will be people who were lovers of the original from the’80s, and thus are a bit older, the weekday release shouldn’t be too much of a deterrent to attendance.

Formerly Top Gun: Maverick shared its release date with In the Heights, along with both films were not always looking for the same audience, but today neither film will face considerable competition on their release that’s likely good news for the two films.
A Two-day jump might not mean a lot to a lot of people but for a movie sequel that lots of fans are waiting decades to see, I am sure they’ll happily take those 2 days and appear on Wednesday.
A sequel to Top Gun has been something that many fans have been requesting since the first film came out, and even approaching 40 decades later, it was still something people wanted to see.
Certainly, that fan curiosity went a long way in keeping Best Gun relevant through the years and also making the sequel finally happen.
In reality, a formal Wednesday opening will likely mean ancient screenings on Tuesday evening, making the film that much closer to being real.
