Watch: Star Wars: The High Republic Trailer Introduces A New Era
Although the growth of Skywalker disappointed critically and commercially and is now more or less out of people’s minds, Disney still has lots coming down the pipeline to keep lovers of that galaxy far, far away from being active during the next few years.
By Star Wars TV shows on Disney Plus like Obi-Wan Kenobi and The Mandalorian season two, to an official Knights Of The Old Republic film trilogy and, of course, whatever it is that Marvel legend Kevin Feige is working on, there is much to get excited about. Yes, the force is still strong with the Mouse House’s sci-fi franchise, it seems, and that is all without mentioning another film saga, that will allegedly occur throughout the High Republic era.
Details on exactly what Lucasfilm is planning there stay scarce, but before tonight, the studio finally revealed Project Luminous and it turns out that it is going to tie into the above next saga. Or so it seems, as they’re calling this new initiative Star Wars: The High Republic and alongside the announcement trailer up above, they also released the following outline, and that details what to expect.
Set 200 Decades Before the events of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, the Galactic Republic and the Jedi Order are in their height, protecting and serving the galaxy.
Sounds intriguing, and with all the Skywalker saga now behind us along with the studio eventually using a more or less blank slate to use, we can likely expect some fairly refreshing and exciting stories to be informed across all mediums. How these books will tie into some forthcoming movies, that we do not yet understand, but obviously the seeds are being planted here for future movies.
Regrettably, we do not have much longer to go on in this time, but people feeling burned out on Star Wars after the last trilogy can at least rest easy knowing that the future of the franchise is seeking to go in an entirely different way as we see an era that has a ton of potential for interesting new stories to be told.
